Operation
Research and development to add value to uneaten sea products
Based on the market and technical-economic feasibility studies’ recommendations (operation 7B-1), this operation to add value to uneaten marine products is designed to undertake research and development studies to create new sectors based on using the by-products of seafood or other marine resources for non-food purposes (micro/macro-algae, active substances of marine origin: sponges, sea-cucumber offal, etc.).
2 actions
- Research on and development of processing and value-adding techniques for by-products or uneaten products (sea-cucumber offal from aquaculture ; microalgae whose farming is well understood)
- Support initiatives to process and use by-products and uneaten products (refining the hydrolysate produced from fish offals; most advanced microalgae)
