Strengthening seafood product production and improving its marketing and consumption
Based on the market and technical-economic feasibility studies’ recommendations (operation 7A.1), the goal of this operation is to support seafood processing and development initiatives and their marketing to increase both the added value generated by the resources and benefits for producers. Whole or processed products will be promoted with commercial food and food services networks. This operation calls for facilitating access to healthy local food and encourage food self-sufficiency.
The problems encountered, the strategies implemented, the failures and successes will be shared in the three OCTs in a spirit of regional cooperation.

- Support initiatives and develop processing and development techniques (including packaging) for the products consumed
- Promote eating seafood products
- Support initiatives to facilitate contact between producers and consumers

- The exact outlines of this action are supposed to be determined by the DRM in 2019 so as to begin the action in 2020. The approach taken will be the same as for action 7A.1.1 (support, promotion, etc.)

- Enhance production and improve marketing and consumption of local seafood products (whole or processed) with activities targeting professionals and consumers (network sales locations, assist investment, improve practices in terms of quality, promote seafood products from responsible fisheries, etc.)
- Support the development of new sectors (oceanic fisheries, FAD-based fishing, squid fishing, aquaculture, etc.)
