Operation
Carrying out technical and economic studies on adding value to uneaten fisheries products
This operation consists of conducting market and technical and economic feasibility studies on species, techniques and inedible marine products with the ultimate goal of developing local or export value-adding sectors, increasing benefits for operators, encouraging a circular economy, making existing sectors more dynamic (animal feed, agrofood, biotechnologies), limiting wastage and waste production and their impact on the natural environment.
These studies will be based on work done in the region and can be carried out in New Caledonia and French Polynesia to achieve economies of scale.
2 actions
- Technical and economic feasibility studies (e.g. study on the possibility of using the stock of sea cucumber offal from aquaculture or even a study on local use of the stock of fish scales, a by-product of using fish offal from the UTDP)
- Market studies (local and/or export). Depending on the target by-products/markets, the studies will be shared at the regional level
- Studies to identify new by-product/market pairs (assess stock and possibility of using a by-product; profitability/economic optimum of the new sectors)
- Test sectors and assess their territorial impact
