Protecting drinking water resources
This operation is aimed at identifying infrastructure, facilities, work or development that may impact on water resources in several localities.
In addition, following on from INTEGRE initiatives on Wallis & Futuna, the operation aims to set up three concentric protective boundaries around the water uptake points on Wallis and upstream from the catchment areas on Futuna.
1 action
A study was carried out on Wallis under INTEGRE to draw up the two inner concentric boundaries around the pumping stations. The next stage needs to be defining the rules governing the boundaries and making them actionable. On Futuna, the entire process needs to be carried out. This action item is broken down as follows:
On Wallis:
- list infrastructure, facilities, work or development
- regulate and publicise the water protection boundaries
On Futuna:
- list infrastructure, facilities, work or development
- regulate and publicise the water protection boundaries
