“Water, source of life”, is on this Sunday, June 12 at 6:00 PM, on Caledonia TV. This episode will guide you through the actions led by PROTEGE project with the Kokingone and Haccimen tribes in and the Cèmi Accut A Mulip organization in New Caledonia. Made up of 80% of women, this organization commits to reforest the water catchment areas of the watershed, supplying Touho’s population up to 50% drinking water. They are being supported by ONF (French National Forest Office) International to implement actions aiming at reducing the strains put on the environment (fires, deers, feral pigs…)

The WWF New Caledonian branch increased technical innovations at the “Montagne des Sources” in Dumbéa, with for instance, a pioneering way of sowing seeds with a drone, on a site unreachable by man, but vital for the supply of drinking water to more than 100.000 New Caledonians.

Futuna Island will be featured for the first time in Resilience, thanks to the Territorial Department of the Environment’s involvement.

In French Polynesia, Fautaua river is followed-up by a device of multiparametric sensors, which will be explained by the French Polynesia Environment Department.
