A very successful 3rd edition of the Food and Innovation Village (VAI) in French Polynesia

The 2022 VAI edition took place over 4 days from Thursday 31 to Sunday 03 April at the Tahitian cultural center. The objective of the event was to promote healthy and sustainable eating habits in a fun and practical way.

This year's theme "What will we eat tomorrow? and how?". The village approach is both innovative and cross cutting, friendly and accessible to all (schoolchildren, professionals and the general public). The agenda includes  conferences, video screenings, culinary workshops and presentation of fresh and processed products from the territory.

A joint stand between the department of Agriculture, the department of Marine Resources and the department of Health of French Polynesia and the Pacific Community enabled to:

-Promote local fruits, vegetables, and tubers to raise awareness about healthy food

-share information on actions carried out by PROTEGE contributing to reinforce the sustainability of food systems: network of demonstration farms in agroecology, support to sustainable aquaculture sectors, protection of marine resources.
