PROTEGE participates in French Polynesia's Knowledge Thursdays

A conference on syntropical agroforestry presented by Mickaël Sansoni, farmer member of the PROTEGE network of agroecology demonstration farms, will be held on Thursday May 26, 2022 in Moorea.

Mickaël Sansoni, an agroforestry expert based in New Caledonia, will present the principle of syntropic agroforestry this Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 5:30 pm at the Fare 'Ute Criobe Amphitheater, Opunohu Moorea.

This approach was developed in Brazil and designed to mimic a forest in several very specific ways. Close to traditional Oceanian systems, this agriculture helps preserve biodiversity and addresses the impacts of climate change while proposing a production method that requires less chemicals.

Through PROTEGE, three agroforestry plots are being set-up on the atolls of Fakarava and Rangiroa. The implementation of the synthetic agriculture plots in French Polynesia is coordinated by the French Polynesian Department of Agriculture in collaboration with the French Committee of IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature).

The conference is open to all, come and join us!
