Science Day

In this year 2020, the science festival is celebrated in New Caledonia and French Polynesia. It will be in March 2021 in Wallis and Futuna.

The Science Day is a national event, offering 10 days of scientific, festive and free events. It brings together young and old around scientific subjects, with conferences, site visits, experiments or film-debates.

Within this framework, the PROTEGE facilitators of the project leading agencies are organizing or have organized various interventions.

Find the program in New Caledonia, from 7 to 16 November, on the website www.fetedelascience.fr :

- visit of the Conservatoire des espaces naturels and ADECAL in Koné on invasive species and fishing on Thursday 12 November,

- visit of a demonstration farm in agroecology and round table in Dumbéa on Saturday, November 14 (registration at [email protected])

French Polynesia celebrated the Science Festival at fenua from October 02 to 12. As every year, it was a flagship event that brought together researchers and science actors with the general public and schoolchildren in order to better inform about the projects conducted at Fenua.

For the celebration of its 29th edition on the theme "Human-Nature Interactions, what new perspectives", Yann-Follin, IFREMER technician / Marine Resources Directorate of French Polynesia (within the framework of the PROTEGE project) presented the system for monitoring the quality of lagoons. A fascinating work to be discovered in pictures...
