Shrimp waste recovery

The French Polynesia Marine Resources Department (DRM), the French Polynesia Agriculture Department (DAG) and the Pacific Community (SPC) headed to Vairao in order to meet two fish farmers who have agreed to take part in the project of recycling their waste (shrimp sludge and cage waste).

Taking samples of waste in order to have them analysed and then tested by the DAG is the first stage of the project.

This action is part of a larger project to recover fish, aquaculture and mother-of-pearl waste, in order to support the three sectors of the DRM: fishing, aquaculture and pearl farming.
