Study of honey resources and honeys

The study of honey resources and honeys contributes to the sustainable development of the beekeeping sector, the maintenance of biodiversity and the support of pollinators.

Through the PROTEGE programme, about fifteen beekeepers from all the archipelagos took part in an information meeting on the ongoing work of the French Polynesia Agriculture Department.

The results of Alexia Lombard's internship were presented and made it possible to characterise beekeeper profiles and honey calendars. As a continuation of this work, beekeepers were invited to express their interest in participating in the analyses of their honeys with a view to their characterisation.
