Mobilization of New Caledonian partners in agriculture and forestry

The Chamber of Agriculture and Fisheries (CAP-NC) organized on May 12 in Nessadiou the "Forum of PROTEGE thematic networks " which brings together agriculture and forestry partners.

Thirty participants from PROTEGE partner institutions took part in the day's exchanges. The objective of this gathering was to give an overview of all the actions carried out by the project in order to share knowledge on different disciplines of agriculture and forestry.

This forum enabled:

to present the progress of the different actions;
to organize 6 rotating workshops: overview of test protocols, demonstration of connected water management equipment, knowledge of crop auxiliaries by REPAIR, exchanges on alternatives to pesticides, forecast on local seed multiplication, exchanges on agroforestry plots by AGIR;
to report on the complementary work on the organic matter study;
to look back on the first results of the measurement of the agroecological performance of the PROTEGE demonstration farms.
