Gender and Agroecology - Webinar by the FAO

The main topic of this virtual event is :
“Boosting the potential of women farmers as protagonist of agroecological experiences: stories from the field.”
This webinar, organized by the FAO, is part of the gender action plan of The Plant Production and Protection Division (NSP) for 2023-2027, which aims to better integrate gender into the division’s work. It was organized collaboratively with the Gender team of the the Inclusive Rural Transformation and Gender Equality Division (ESP) and aims to demonstrate, through a few examples from around the world, how certain methodologies can contribute to showcasing the potential of women in agroecological experiences. This webinar will also present a proposal on how to better incorporate women’s needs into an agroecology training program.
Webinar objectives:
- Raise awareness on women farmer’s contribution to the development of agroecological experiences.
- Present and discuss different methodologies that can provide evidence of this contribution.
- Advocate for special attention to women farmer’s needs in agroecology’s training activities
