Using ecosystem service provider plants in French Polynesia
Supporting farmers in agro-ecological transition and strengthening their resilience
By increasing diversity in the field, service plants can, among other things, improve soil fertility, attract beneficial insects and repel certain pests. They thus limit the use of fertilisers and pesticides for a healthy and sustainable production.
The PROTEGE programme, in partnership with the French Polynesian Department of Agriculture, supports farmers in their agro-ecological transition in order to strengthen their resilience to the impacts of climate change.
