"Sustainable Fishing Fridays", here we go!

From 6 to 27 November, every Friday, many activities are programmed in Wallis and Futuna.

Sharing knowledge on marine ecosystems, raising awareness on sustainable management of marine resources, photo contest, escape game fishing, thematic workshops, etc...

The objectives of Fishing Fridays are to :

- Bring together the "actors of the sea",

- Sharing knowledge on marine ecosystems and raising awareness on sustainable management of marine resources: What is the state of our marine resources? How can they be better managed?

- Promote a sustainable fishing industry and make the profession of fisherman known to the population: how to combine tradition and modernity, food and professional fishing?

Workshops are organized by invitation and many activities will be open to the public from 2 pm.

On November 6th, Sustainable Fishing Fridays take place in Futuna.

This event is an initiative of the Wallis and Futuna fishing department and the Fenua fishermen as part of the PROTEGE program.
