Regional cooperation between Wallis and Futuna and New-Caledonia on Installations Classified for the Environment (ICPE)
A first regional cooperation mission carried out in 2020 as part of the PROTEGE project Water theme, focused on the support of the Territorial Environment Service (STE) of Wallis and Futuna by the Industry, Mines and Energy Department (DIMENC) of New Caledonia.
It aimed at supporting the assessment of the main Installations Classified for Environmental Protection (ICPE) present on the territory of Wallis and Futuna.
This mission allowed the STE agents to be trained, for example, on the correct use of the ICPE nomenclature and to consider in 2021, in the event of a new mission, the reinforcement of their capacities on the instruction of ICPE files in particular and helping operators comply with their obligations.
