A phone survey to assess New-Caledonian behaviours when it comes to water

1500 New-Caledonian households are currently undergoing a phone survey for the water/health barometer.

Within this framework, the sanitary and social affairs direction of New Caledonia and the Pacific Community will carry a phone survey which aims at bringing out the representations, knowledge, use and habits of New-Caledonian people in relation with water. The objective is offer improvement actions for the service as well as awareness-raising tools suited to the local population.

To achieve this, the barometer will study 1 500 users scattered around 33 towns in New-Caledonia. I-SCOPE, a polling organization contracted by SPC, will conduct phone surveys as of May 2020. Following this survey step, the DASS NC will process the collected data in order to make a diagnosis by town and identify the levers to improve the drinking water distribution system. This barometer water/health is carried out thanks to the PROTEGE project, funded by the European Union through the 11th European development fund.

The phone survey will be conducted from the 4th to the 20th of May 2020.
