Science Festival in French Polynesia

More than 200 Polynesian students were welcomed by the teams working in connection with the PROTEGE project.

The Science Festival in French Polynesia was held on October 18 and 19, 2022.

As every year, the Polynesian actors working for the implementation of the PROTEGE project held a booth divided into 3 poles

- drinking water: animated by the French Polynesian Environment Directorate (DIREN PF) and the Syndicate for the Promotion of French Polynesian Municipalities (SPC-Pf) around the PROTEGE tarpaulins,

- biomaterials: animated by the Departments of Agriculture and Marine Resources (DAG/DRM) with demonstration of peat / seedbed production from braided coir fibers as well as the valorization of mother-of-pearl powder as natural soil fertilizer,

- sustainability of food systems: led by the Department of Agriculture (DAG) around the card games produced with the support of PROTEGE with the Chamber of Agriculture and Fishing of FP (CAPL) and the Pacific Community (SPC).

The actions of the PROTEGE project were also made known to schoolchildren as well as to the general public through multiple communication supports, presented in particular by the Pacific Community, including tarpaulins on food systems and a poster on the valorization of coconut co-products.

5 children have won prizes in the quiz created on the PROTEGE project actions. Congratulations to the winners!
