Start of the second competition session among the fishermen of Wallis and Futuna

In Wallis and Futuna, a coastal fisheries observatory has been implemented through PROTEGE project. It is managed by the Fisheries and Agriculture Services in Wallis and Futuna

The collection of data is crucial to provide decision support data which enables to conduct a sustainable fishery on the territory.

As a result, the fisheries department launched a contest among fishermen to support this approach.

This is the second session of the competition which will last 8 weeks, between May 2 and June 24, 2022.

The rule is simple:

1 measured fish = 1 point

At each fish landing, fishermen are invited to contact from Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm, the fisheries department at 72 26 06 or 82 26 06.

The fisheries service is expecting many of you and we would like to thank the fishermen!

Reach out to them and help the Wallis and Futuna fisheries observatory.
